The Great Ironbridge Coracle Drift
18th September – 9:30 am
A fundraising event for the Ironbridge Coracle Trust. We are aiming to get as many experienced coraclers as possible to paddle the 7+ miles from Cressage to Ironbridge along the beautiful River Severn and raise money through sponsorship to support the work of the Ironbridge Coracle Trust. The mass ‘Coracle Drift’ will form part of the World Heritage Ironbridge Festival and we want to make a spectacular sight as we come into Ironbridge.
Don’t be fooled by the name though! This tough paddle will take approximately 4 hours. The route will take us via the fascinating meanders and loops of the River Severn, near Leighton, under the iconic Iron Bridge itself before we get out opposite the newly restored Old Coracle Shed at Ironbridge Canoe Hire. We will finish here with a celebratory B-B-Q. Seven miles in a coracle will test the padding on your bottom!
All we ask is that each participant raises approximately £50 in sponsorship to help fund the fantastic ongoing work of the Ironbridge Coracle Trust.
Bookings are now closed for this event.
